ElderQuest is Ready for Visitors!

UPDATE: A Faculty/Evaluation version of ElderQuest has been added to the site. It allows visitors to quickly try out any level of the game rather than playing through it in sequence -- but the downside is that you CANNOT save your progress. The Faculty/Evaluation version of ElderQuest can be reached via the following page: http://www.elderquest.org/elderquest/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=24&Itemid=90

Despite some delays, the full version of ElderQuest: Fellowship is now ready for players. All five of the opening missions are complete, games can be saved and reloaded, and player identities (tracking game progress and achievements, medical equipment, gold, etc.) are working.

Perhaps most important of all, the in-game Help System is working. Pressing "F2" will unfurl a menu at the top of the game window, with two links. The gameplay link will open the "How to Play" section from this web site, and the "Healer's Reference" button will take you to "Harrington's Principles of Magical Medicine" -- the place that holds all the answers a wizardly geriatrician could want! Regardless of your level of geriatric knowledge, you should be able to find the answers you need in the "Healer's Reference."

We're still working out the kinks, though, so please let us know if you are having trouble or need help ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ), or post a message at the discussion boards. Likewise, if you play the game and have any comments or suggestions, we'd love to hear them!  Please e-mail us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Check back again soon for more updates -- and Happy Trails from the Kingdom of Lambenthe!

Welcome to the Kingdom of Lambenthe -- fabled home to dragons and sages, Healers and Mages -- and some seriously nasty infectious diseases...

FBK_EntranceGermClouds

Evil has come to Lambenthe, and the once-peaceful kingdom is now under siege. A long-banished Wizard -- and disgraced former Healer -- has returned from exile. The Amber Sage has renounced his Healing Oaths, forsaken his wizardly duties, and turned his Healing skills against his own people. Leading a massive army of animated germs and debility, Cravenwood has flooded the northern frontier in a tidal wave of disease, death, and destruction.

Already, the twisted wizard's plagues have struck down most of Lambenthe's top Sages. Only one wizard remains alive: Lady Gwendryll, the Elder Sage who vanquished Cravenwood all those years ago. Since retiring to her home in distant Belvernesse, Gwendryll has grown frail and sickly, barely capable of walking, much less conquering dragons and banishing wizards.

But the Elder Sage will have to try. Gwendryll's home town of Belvernesse lies directly in the path of Cravenwood's army. As the only Healer in the region, you must reach the wizard first and restore her to health -- or at least recover a bit of her legendary strength.

It's a tall order -- especially for a novice like you, with a Healer's degree that's still damp with fresh ink.

But like the Elder Sage, you're determined to try, regardless of the cost. After all, you've sworn an oath, as a Healer of Lambenthe.

An oath you've pledged to guard and uphold with your very life.
